What is Global Alpha Training?

Global Alpha Training = Global Mission Meets Local Evangelism

Global Alpha Training (GAT) is localised training delivered in a localised style. GAT has been designed to equip and empower people and teams from churches that run and love Alpha courses to train others oversees on how to use the Alpha course to evangelize in their local context.

GAT could be called "Alpha Training in a Suitcase". GAT teams are provided with everything they need to succesfully train international leaders in the Alpha course. We will provide you with training, programmes and transcripts of the GAT talks. All you need to do is add your experience and passion! 

The GAT event includes-

• Skits and illustrations to assist with explanations. It is highly interactive!
• Gives delegates the opportunity to experience and practice elements of the course
• The target audience is church leaders who have heard about Alpha and would like to be trained
• The maximum number of delegates, for the event to be as effective as possible, is between 80-100 

  There are two ways to chose your GAT location:

• Ask us where there is a training need around the world, at home or abroad and Alpha will connect you (Alpha-matched; click here to see a list of current oversees locations requesting Alpha training)
• Go to places where your church/team has connections. Train existing mission partners/contacts in other countries (Self-matched)

Each year we receive numerous requests for training in the Alpha course from pastors, church and community leaders, and organizations around the world. There is a real desire to see God move through Alpha in their local communities. As one person writes after returning from a recent GAT-

"I'm writing to ask for your help. We need more GAT teams from churches in your countries urgently! I'm just returning home from a trip to Indonesia and the Philippines which has been very inspiring...They were pleading with me to send them more GAT teams!..They both feel Alpha is a fantastic tool for their countries and now is the time for us to reach out to their churches. Social Action Component

In addition to doing the GAT event, some teams like to include a compassion or social transformation project in their trip. Alpha International and Alpha USA have partnerships with organizations around the world and would be happy to link teams with contacts at the charities in order to organize a visit or project. Teams who have done this have found it a valuable part of the trip. The Local Team may also know about projects the GAT team could visit and they will be happy to discuss this with you as you prepare for your trip.
