Interested in Launching an Alpha for ESOL Course?

These pages are designed for you! Here you will find information on training, materials, and local resources to help you get started.

Getting Started

If you want to launch an Alpha for ESOL course in your community, we recommend that you attend a Classic Alpha course first. It would also be helpful for you to work on a Classic Alpha course. This will help you become familiar with the format, and you will learn how to facilitate a small group discussion.

To understand the unique aspects of the Alpha for ESOL course, you can:

  1. Read the course materials
  2. Attend an Alpha for ESOL training conference.
  3. Visit a course currently running in your region
For a set of free course materials, send an email to lisasmith@alphausa.org

Training conferences

Alpha for ESOL training conferences occur throughout the year, in different areas of the country. A list of training events will be posted here as details become available. We recommend that you register for events as soon as they are posted since space is usually limited.
