After Alpha
"Catechesis without a personal relationship with Jesus, without evangelization, is like trying to plant seeds on concrete, not much happens." - Fr. James Mallon
The Alpha course is one of the most effective methods of evangelization today. One of the most exciting effects is the enthusiastic interest for “What’s next?" Once people's faith comes alive and they have an on-going personal relationship with the risen Lord, through evangelization, they are eager to enter and probe the profound mysteries of our Catholic faith.
Our Advisory Board and National Leadership Team have reviewed many outstanding resources and are pleased to recommend the following resources for after Alpha.
Introduction
The goal of our Alpha USA Catholic outreach team is to help US Catholic leaders and parishes to initiate Catholic renewal and carry out the new Catholic evangelization.
We have selected the resources above because we have found them to be the most effective tools for Catholic evangelization and spiritual formation among many that are available. Based on our experience we chose these because they were most engaging and effective with audiences that used them. They were either Catholic materials or consistent with Catholic principals of evangelization and they served a particular purpose in the evangelization process.
This review is meant to help give more information on how these tools fit in the conversion and spiritual growth process following Alpha. In case you have not yet experienced an Alpha course, we recommend the following resources:
