What 31 days in jail did for us
 My husband and I were both in county jail for 31 days. During that time, we were unable to communicate with each other. I began reading the Bible and listening to the pastors, Pat and Grace, that visit once a week. My husband did the same.
While in jail, we both found peace and strength with the Lord. Once released, we began attending The Lighthouse Christian Center which is the church that the prison ministry leaders came from. While in jail, our water and electricity had been disconnected. So, we would pray and read the Bible with candlelight and flashlight once we were home. Even though things were hard, we were both content and at peace because we had God in our lives. Since then, we have been blessed by God continuously.
Then we were invited to attend an Alpha course. We praise God that we have been filled with the Holy Spirit. We believe that God chose us when He did because now we take the Word of God to all of the people we used to sin with, hoping that they will accept the Lord as we did. They have noticed the glory and happiness the Lord has provided us. It has been a life changing experience for both of us.
As of now (30+ days after release), we are blessed to have an extension cord from a neighbor so we have a light, but still no running water. But when our jugs of water get low, God provides for us. We praise God daily for changing our lives! Thank you for the Alpha prison ministry leaders for helping us find God and our church pastors for the guidance and support. Our church family has accepted us with open arms and shared in our blessings.
