Inviting guests To an Alpha Course
We are looking for new ways to invite guests to your fall course. Do you have any ideas?
1. Why don’t you challenge your team to be intentional about developing and maintaining friendships with un-churched friends? One of the best ways to do this is to spend time with non-churchgoing people. Take time to chat with neighbors, co-workers etc. Invite friends to go to a sports event, organize a neighborhood picnic or a summer barbecue.
When you’re with your friends practice your Alpha skills:
* Practice being a good listener.
* Ask questions. Start where they are, and with what’s important to them - their lives, career, family, etc.
* Don’t underestimate the importance of small talk. Small talk builds trust and forms the foundation upon which deeper relationships are built.
2. Continue to pray for your friends. Prayer softens hearts and lays the groundwork for Kingdom breakthroughs. Some course leaders have spent focused time praying for potential guests using the idea of the "My Most Wanted Devotional: 40 Days to pray for the lost" ( By Terry Teykl)
3. Consider giving your family and friends the new book from Alpha USA that will be coming soon called "The Breakthrough" this small book is a parable of a man and his heart searching questions. Sometimes a book can open up deeper conversations and could be a bridge for someone to consider coming on the Alpha course.
