God Pursues Us

We begin every morning at Vintage with a personal devotion time in the Bible.

This week for my devotion time I’ve been spending a lot of time in the Old Testament. I am struck with how similar it is to the New Testament. I was in three particular books: Hosea, Esther, and Jeremiah. I’ve been thinking about the unchangeablity of God.  Some of my non-Christian friends, even some of my Christian friends, have brought up how they see the God of the Old Testament and New Testament as very different. However, looking at these books from the Bible, I am amazed to see God striving after his people with a crazy abandon, just in the same way that Christ went after the lost during his life on earth. I’m really starting to internalize that God loved and went after the early Hebrews and then later the Jews and Gentiles, and then today he pursues me and you. I find that very reassuring to be so loved.
