If God did exist what would you ask?

I would ask an all-powerful being why it would need the validation of it's creation, via praise. Take the story of Job for example: When faced with the challenge from the Satan, JHVH, in his insecurity, set out to prove the Satan wrong by allowing all sorts of maladies to be visited upon Job, knowing full well that Job would maintain his faith.
Can someone explain how these are the actions of something that deserves my worship?

But then dwell in fear because you cry out to God and he doesn't fix your problem? There is a dread that sits in my soul that refuses to leave, and it is related to my fear of God knowing I don't want to change my life to follow him. But he already knows.

If X amount of people pray for their favorite baseball team to win while the Y amount of people are praying for the opposite team to win, at the end of the game some prayers are answered while others are not. What is the problem with this? Well, people are actually praying to a being they believe created the universe and everything in it and still thinks he/she cares either way about a baseball game. These are stupid questions and anyone who says there are no such things as stupid questions were lying. The real questions you should be asking are along the lines of why do roughly half of Christian historians who begin to study the bible as a piece of history stop believing in the existence of god? That gets to the heart of the matter that faith in a god is neither logical nor rational, but rather a feeble grip on a concept so old humans have forgotten why we invented gods in the first place.

If the God of the CMJ faiths existed here are the questions I would ask: Why did you dictate the origins of the universe to people before you had given them the gifts to understand scientific principles? You claim to be all-powerful and all-knowing. So you must have planned to have Tycho Brahe, Galileo and Copernicus figure out that the earth was not the center of the universe. You must have planned for Newton to develop the ideas of physics and calculus upon which so much science is based. You must have planned for Darwin to uncover the principles of genetics, that, being all-powerful, you put into place. Were all these folks 'possessed' by the devil? So, now why do you persist in leading fundamentalist believers along the ancient pathways of thinking? Why can you not make it more obvious to folks where the 'truth' really lies, and stop allowing mankind to fight amongst various ethnic and religious groups? 'Free will' is just a cop-out. Either the earth was created on 7 days and is only a few thousand years old, or, as in the trail of evidence you left for the many scientists to whom you gave the powers of reason, it is 4.5 billion years old, whirling in space that is 14 billion years old.

I don't know why this is happening now because it's not a good time in my life. Still, I continue to be interested in it and have even purchased a simple Bible just to read because I've never read a Bible. I also plan to attend the first Alpha class to be held at a local church soon. I don't understand what is so wrong with this? I'm not hurting anyone by making my own investigation into Christianity. The Alpha organization isn't forcing anyone to join it. To me, Alpha is simply presenting a safe place for people who are curious about Christianity to ask questions and receive knowledge. What people do with that knowledge is up to them. Who knows? Maybe I'll return to my atheist leanings after learning more about Christianity. Or maybe I'll decide to embrace it. Either way, the choice is ultimately mine. (Btw, science can't explain everything. Any truly honest scientist will readily admit this.)
