A Thanksgiving to remember
This past Thanksgiving at the Madison Correctional Institution in London, Ohio there were tears of joy shed as families gathered together for the first ever Alpha Thanksgiving service. Loved ones of inmates who had recently completed the Alpha course were invited to come into the prison and the sense of love and forgiveness was palpable.
A mother of one of the inmate’s said, “This is the first time that we have worshipped together as a family since my son left the church. This has truly been a blessed time for us.”
Jack Cowley, the Alpha National Prison Director, has more thoughts on ways churches and individuals can bring the Alpha course into local prisons.
