Twin Cities: Conversational Evangelism Conference

By Todd Hunter,

“How do we develop an evangelistic culture in our church?” That’s a question I often hear from Alpha pastors and leaders. That’s the main reason I developed the Conversational Evangelism Conferences which we are holding in Menlo Park CA Feb. 29 – Mar. 1, and now in the Twin Cities MN May 16 & 17.

Alpha leaders know better than anyone how much our culture is changing, and how these changes are affecting the way we do evangelism. Many church-goers have distanced themselves from non-Christians and no longer know any unchurched people well enough to invite them to an Alpha Course. But the good news is that the changed culture is giving rise to new and effective ways of reaching out to seekers – ways that that are “doable” even for the average Christian.

That’s why I am encouraging Alpha leaders to attend one of the Conversational Evangelism Conferences and to bring along a team of leaders and members. These events are bringing together experts who can help churches develop an evangelistic church culture. Mark Mittelberg, Becky Pippert, Garry Poole, Dan Kimball, Richard Peace, Rick Richardson and Todd Hunter will be speaking at one or both of these Conferences. They will help us understand the cultural changes we are experiencing, and the impact these changes have for evangelism. They will also introduce effective tools such as Seeker Small Groups, Seeker Bible Studies, and the Holy Conversation Project. You will receive practical training, and you’ll be invited to join the conversation with questions and contributions from your own experiences.

We are already hearing the terrific stories of new evangelistic momentum experienced by teams that attended our first CEC last March. We hope that soon these will be your stories too.
